The Consular Corps in Greece held its Annual Vassilopita cutting with a brilliant reception on Thursday, 20th January  2011. 
The President of the Consular Corps Mrs. Terina Kalogeropoulos Armenakis, Honorary Consul General of Ethiopia and the Members of the Board of Directors greeted the guests at the Yacht Club of Greece in Piraeus.

The event was attended by representatives of 66 Countries, including many Honorary Consuls from Athens and other cities, Ambassadors, Career diplomats, Professors of higher educational institutions as well as prominent members of the Greek Spiritual, Scientific, Business and Artistic communities.

 The reception commenced with greetings and wishes to the attendees from the President Mrs Armenakis. The Secretary General of Consular Corps, Honorary Consul of Finland, Mr. Ioannis Constantinidis explained the custom referring to the tradition of the New Year’s cake. The President and former Presidents of the Consular Corps offered a portion of the cake to the guests. The coins were found by two participants who received a commemorative gift of four-leaf clover engraved with the initials of the Consular Corps.

The splendid settings of the Yacht Club, the delicious dishes and the exceptional music contributed to a memorable event under the fullmoon of the Attic sky.
