A very important and exceptional visit to the Presidential Palace and the Presidential Guard (the Evzons) has been organized for our members on the 26^th of June 2013.

During both visits the members of the Corps had the opportunity to be informed about the organization and aims of the Presidential Guard as well to visit the premises of the Presidential Mansion.

In the headquarters of the Presidential Guard the members were welcomed by the deputy commander of the Presidential Guard, Major Elias Karmiris, who made a full presentation of this Corps, talking about historical, military and cultural issues regarding the Evzons and projecting a film regarding this important Corps. Further to the presentation the attendants visited the “Tsarouchopoieion”. This is the place where talented and experienced craftsmen totally by hand are making the famous Evzone cloaks named “Tsarouchia”. Then the visitors were guided to the tailor’s department where they saw how the magnificent uniforms of the Evzons are sewed being informed about every detail on the “foustanela” the shirts and other parts of the uniform. After visiting the Presidential Guard, the members went to the Presidential Mansion. The deputy security officer together with Mrs Liapis, Director of the Public Relations department of the Presidency of the Hellenic Republic welcomed the visitors.

During their visit, under the excellent guidance of Mrs. Liapis, the visitors had the opportunity to admire precious objects, state of the art items and priceless paintings by the most famous Greek painters.

They also visited the meeting rooms, the waiting halls, the Credentials hall, the ballroom as well as the wonderful gardens.
